“I want to workout but what do I do??” – this is a VERY common question among people getting into the fitness industry, heck I’m sure you’ve asked it yourself! The journey to fitness is not one-size-fits-all; different workout styles cater to various preferences, goals, and fitness levels. At Shape Up Fitness I understand that every individual is unique which is why I try to offer a diverse range of class styles to suit your needs and desires. So let’s chat about different styles of workouts (3 of a million) so you can maybe discover a style of workout you want to try to conquer your fitness challenges.
High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT):
OK, let’s start with a BANG and get the scary sounding one out of the way. HIIT or high-intensity interval training.. Now just because it sounds scary doesn’t mean it is! HIIT is a dynamic workout style that alternates between intense bursts of exercise and short recovery periods. These sessions are known for their effectiveness in burning calories and improving cardiovascular fitness.
HIIT classes can typically be a more intense workout and are great for individuals with busy schedules who want maximum results in short amounts of time. The thing to remember is that all styles and classes can be modified to your fitness level, everyone starts somewhere and HIIT is an amazing way to get FIT!
Yoga:
Now we move to the polar opposite of HIIT… Yoga!
Yoga is a holistic practice that combines physical postures, breath control, meditation, and relaxation. Now this may seem easy and not really like a workout but you would be surprised at how many styles of Yoga classes there are from sleepy time Yoga to intense HOT Yoga (13 Types of Yoga). Yoga is perfect for enhancing flexibility, reducing stress, and improving mental clarity. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced yogi, this is an amazing style to add to your fitness routine.
Strength Training:
